The Artist Behind the Lab
I’m Lynna Goldhar Smith — painter, and writer based in Vancouver.
In my work, am a always asking one central question: what becomes possible when we create without fear?
Most days, you’ll find me working at my studio in Eastside Atelier, surrounded by canvases, notebooks, facing my own fears– making art.
But a few times each year, I open my doors to share this space with others.
Through workshops and one-to-one coaching, I guide artists and writers in moving past self-doubt, trusting their imagination, and stepping boldly into their creative voice.

Our Philosophy
The Heart of the Lab
I believe that when we let go of fear, we open ourselves to possibility. In the Lab, you’ll find:
- A supportive, judgment-free environment
- Time to reconnect with your imagination
- Encouragement to trust your own creative voice
- Freedom to experiment with materials, words, and ideas
The Lab is both personal and collective: a place where my own artistic practice unfolds, and where others are invited to explore theirs.
Seasonal Format
Fall Workshop Schedule
A few times each year, I open the doors of my studio for small, seasonal workshops. These gatherings are designed to be intimate, supportive, and rooted in exploration rather than perfection. Each workshop reflects the rhythms of my own art practice — inviting participants to experiment with new ideas, materials, and approaches while creating in community.
