Painting Labs.
Creative Compass Lab
This lab is for self-taught painters who want to find their direction, take real steps forward, and see clear progress in their work. With your creative compass, you begin to read what’s actually happening on the canvas and make decisions with more confidence. You learn to evaluate, not judge, your work — to see what isn’t working as a problem to solve rather than a reason to shut down. Over time, your practice becomes more deliberate, and the progress you’ve been waiting for starts to show up in the work. This is how you take big leaps forward confidently and joyously with assurance that you know where you are going.
Six weeks, Saturday, January 9- February 12, 2026
10:45 am to 1:30 pm $200.00

Art Skool
If you ever felt intimidated because you didn’t go to Art School, this lab offers self-taught painters the foundations without the formality. You learn how colour theory actually works on the canvas — hue shifts, value changes, temperature, the minor adjustments that hold a painting together. You start to see why a composition feels stable or why it collapses, and you get comfortable with glazes, mediums, tools, and surfaces. The experiments are guided, not random. Each one helps you understand how your materials behave and why you’d choose one approach instead of another. By the end, you’ve built a solid technical base, shaped a clear artist statement, and created momentum you can carry into everything you make.

Writing Labs
Writing Lab
A five-week studio for writers who want to loosen the grip of fear and get words moving again. We work with steady prompts, short exercises, and guided explorations that help you dig into the stories you’ve been circling or the ideas you’ve been trying to shape. You will learn to connect with your creative imagination and overcome writer’s block.
You’ll write every week. You’ll experiment. You’ll learn what strengthens your voice and what gets in its way.
The group also learns a simple way of giving feedback that supports and informs. It helps you see your work more clearly, without the sting of random or off-base comments.
By the end, you’ll have pages, momentum, and a better sense of what you want to say and how you want to say it..
4 weeks Thursday January 9 -January 30, 2026 6:30-8:30 pm. 1750.00
Class size limited to 5 participants
Art of the Journal
“Whether you’re keeping a journal or writing as meditation, it’s the same thing. What’s important is you’re having a relationship with your mind.” Natalie Goldberg
Discover how a simple journal can open the mind, deepen imagination, and make space for emotional clarity. Research over the past four decades has shown that regular journaling supports mental well-being, strengthens self-awareness, and helps people process difficult experiences. It’s one of the most reliable tools we have for personal growth.
Journals can hold memories, track patterns, and help you shape ideas for future projects.
In a fun, supportive atmosphere, we learn techniques to prompt memory and imagination, as well as other practical journaling techniques that boost creativity and enhance our lives in numerous ways.
Six weeks, Monday, January 5- Monday, February 9, 2026.
12:15 noon – 2:45 pm $1 50.00
